Written by Jai on November 29, 2007 – 4:22 am - 3,529 viewsSince I have been a publisher for the Shopzilla Ads on one of my websites, I recently got a mail from the Shopzilla Network and they asked me to join their new Beta Publisher program. I had applied for it and was accepted yesterday. They offer a variety of products from which the publishers can choose and display on their websites.
These include text links, search boxes, banners, product pods etc. I haven’t yet tried them so I cannot say about the revenue that one can earn from the program. The publisher program is still in beta stage so they are not accepting all the publishers but you can still try your luck. The Shopzilla Publisher Program will be at PubCon in Las Vegas between December 4th - December 6th.
Here is how it looks :-

Written by Jai on November 29, 2007 – 1:56 am - 2,741 viewsI am sure that all of you must have noticed how slow the website was all day long. I was trying to move to the VPS (Virtual Private Server) hosting and some annoying scripts were causing the trouble. Wordpress is really a resource hog if mishandled and if you use a lot of plugins. Let’s hope everything goes fine now.

Written by Jai on November 26, 2007 – 11:20 pm - 33,366 viewsKABOOM! Yes…… I have named this new theme as Xplosive and it will surely blow you away! You can consider it as one of the best Wordpress themes released on our website. It is a fully XHTML complaint, Web 2.0 theme meant for modern bloggers. If you are a blogger who likes to go with the times, this is for you!! Xplosive has two sidebars (both on the right side as requested by many here) and has a very pro look to it. It comes with a Blue-Orange color schema.
Edit : Reduced the width of the theme to fit into 1024×768 resolution.

Written by Jai on November 26, 2007 – 3:16 pm - 6,567 viewsIf you are creative, then your creativity should ooze out everywhere including the 404 error pages on your website. They are the most neglected part when it comes down to efficient website design. Believe me when I say that your 404 page is the most viewed page on your website. All your visitors are not equally smart so expect them to make spelling mistakes and errors when typing out the site URL. Some of the visitors might even try to access pages on your website which don’t exist or have been modified.
Now, most of the 404 error pages are boring. We don’t want to be boring, right? So, here are some ideas to get cute with your visitors. These are from real websites - Believe it or not!

Written by Jai on November 25, 2007 – 6:28 pm - 2,947 viewsI was working on the blog as usual (4:43 A.m.) and suddenly everything started shaking!! I told my wife to take Rhea (my daughter) and rush outside but it only lasted for a few seconds. It was the strongest earthquake that I have ever felt in my lifetime. Nature has its way to show us that it is the boss.
Just switched on the TV and saw that the whole city of New Delhi was awake!! The earthquake has been measured 4.3 on the Richter’s scale but it really felt like the strongest earthquake that New Delhi ever experienced - Nuff said!
Note for the Smart ones : The following picture was taken after the earthquake passed ![]()
