Why use WordPress?
Written by Jai on April 19, 2008 – 11:45 pm - 1,456 views
If you are new to WordPress and looking for reasons to use WordPress as a CMS (content management system) in your new website, let me give you some.
Open Source Software
WordPress is an Open Source software which allows it to be used free of cost. You can use it on any kind of personal or commercial website without have to pay a single dime for it. It is built on PHP/MySQL (which is again Open Source) and licensed under GPL.
User Friendly
You don’t really have to be experienced to use WordPress on your website. Nowadays most of the hosting companies provide the ability to install WordPress on your site at a single click of the mouse. The administration section is easy to navigate and its even easy to add articles/content to your website.
Themes Support
You will never run short of templates when using WordPress. If you don’t like the themes that come with the default installation of WordPress, you can hunt on the Internet and you will find thousands of free themes that you can download and use for your website. There are themes which can even make your website look like a regular site instead of a blog.

Written by Jai on January 23, 2008 – 10:39 am - 1,478 views
Our favorite blogging CMS, WordPress, has received a whopping $29.5 million as funding from four companies, to buffer as it invests in other services, including an antispam filter and an online-identity product. These companies did not reveal the size of each firm’s investment, although The New York Times Company’s stake is the smallest one.
The Times Company had previously maintained a business relationship with Automattic, the commercial arm of the popular WordPress publishing platform. The About.com guide site, which was purchased by the Times Company in 2005, is published using the WordPress platform. The New York Times has also produced more than 50 blogs using the platform.
I am really proud to be a WordPress user and so are many other bloggers around the world. What about you?

Written by Jai on December 12, 2007 – 3:51 pm - 1,889 viewsWe all love our blogs, nurturing it day in day out with unique, beautifully structured content only to discover that unfortunately that isn’t enough. What good is a blog if no one visits it, right? Today I have a little something that will get you hopping with joy, and traffic. Yes, I am talking about none other than Twitter.

Twitter is a cool community driven social networking site that provides an amazing tool for friends family and even strangers to keep in touch with each other while on the go. Unlike most normal social networks, Twitter doesn’t require the use of a computer seeing as updates can be sent using a normal mobile phone. You might be asking yourself how is this going to help your blog, read on and I’ll answer that question.
The system is really simple. A user creates an account on twitter which can be accessed by anyone from around the world. Individuals then write short messages, known as twits, which may contain a maximum of 140 characters, the same as in a standard text message. Twits can be on any topic desired and can include links to sites, other members or anything you find interesting. Can you start to see the potentials here?

Written by Jai on December 5, 2007 – 2:45 am - 2,381 views
After the release of my e-book on Wordpress SEO, it will be a long time before I release another e-book. So, to provide you all with some more fresh content, I am writing about an e-book written by one of my friends, Althaf Ahmed. He runs the website called Blogrepreneur.com and has recently released his e-book on Google Analytics. The e-book is called “ABC of Google Analytics”. This e-book comes as a relief for all those webmasters who have been banking on Google’s Help for understanding and implementing Google Analytics. Althaf has de-mystified the Google Analytics concept in his quality e-book.The e-book is 35 pages long and is well written. It begins with a basic “How to Sign up” and moves on to the setup and the deeper concepts in Google Analytics. He has taken good care to explain the different features. One element missing in the book is the use of screenshots. There are a few, but they are inadequate. Althaf, I am sure you can do something about this.
Althaf hails from the same country I reside in, India. He lives in the city of Bangalore and holds a Business and marketing background. Read more »
