I'm a bit confused trying to edit the layout. I understand the left sidebar is the left side of the 'right section', but there's a drown down list of categories i can't get rid of. The code in the lsidebar.php file is general and brings it all in, not each individual section of that left sidebar. I can't seem to keep the 'archive', 'calendar' and 'pages' but just remove the category drop down. Is there another place to edit those elements for display or removal?

<i'm new to wordpress themes, but understand xhtml/css.>

Regards,

it's an error in the code. you have to change code of the recent post tabbertab in sidebar.php

Recent Posts

<?php get_archives('postbypost', '10', 'custom', '
', '
'); ?>

i've tried switching to vanilla 'statement' theme (which uses the same recent post system i believe) and it's still the same problem, all my plugins are disabled, no feed redirection - i wonder what the problem is?

First extract the vanilla "Blue Weed" theme into a folder. By vanilla I mean, untouched.

Now open the index.php file and delete content from lines 2-18 (including line 2 and 18)

Now, you should see all posts aligned to the left of the sidebar.

i'm in the middle of tweaking the blue weed template for my blog, the 'recent post' section of the tabbed column interface doesn't seem to be working too well. i figured it might be because all the posts were freshly-imported from other sites, but even after posting something new, it hasn't updated.

i'm using scott yang's "Permalink Redirect" plugin and redirecting the posts feed to feedburner, i figure that might be a problem somehow?

anyone can help? which files can i edit to take a look at how the tabbed navbar works?

p.s. advice on how to shift the searchbar into the sidebar (above the tabbed navbar) would be appreciated too!

Hi Jai,

Fantastic Blue Weed theme!

I would like to set the sidebar to appear up next to the first post as well and reduce the width of the first post to match the others. Is there an easy way to do this with the theme editor?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Thanks for your response, Jai!

Unfortunately that doesn't solve the problem, as there is no nested subfolder with the same name containing the data. The structure is
/wp-content/themes/blueweed/[files.ext]
and I can't think of any reason why the folder shouldn't be recognized by Wordpress ...

[ADDITION/SOLUTION]

Gosh! I just found the reason for my problem. Instead of extracting the zip-file with "BetterZip" I now used the "StuffIt Expander" and _it works_ !!!

I'm so happy :) Thank you very much anyway - you led me the way ;)

Check if there is not a folder in a folder when you are extracting the theme to your wp-content/themes. For example, check if there is not another blueweed folder in blueweed :) Hope I am making sense because sometimes this mistake happens when you extract a zip file.

Hello there!

I already wrote a comment in the blueweed comment-section, not knowing that there was a forum especially for this kind of questions ...

So my problem is that the 'newer' themes, namely
blueweed
and
statement
, do not appear in the 'design' section of the dashboard/acp, even on untouched default installations of Wordpress.
At first i thought there might be a special trick setting up jai's themes - but
bob, bobv2, Identity, limauorange
and
techicon
work just fine for me.

I uploaded the particular folders as usual into
/wp-content/themes/
and for
statement
I also tried to apply the breadcrumb-plugin ... but there I also have the problem that I cannot choose it from the dashboard-menu, although uploading the plugin went absolutely fine.

[addition] I'm running Wordpress 2.5.1 on a localhost environment for testing and developing purposes (Mac OS X/10.4.11, Apache/1.3.41 (Darwin), PHP/5.2.1, MySQL-API/5.0.24a).

Please help me - I'm desperately looking forward to your answers, suggestions and hopefully the solution for my problem!

Greetings,
Claire
