Open up your style.css in the theme folder. Look for the #searchform identifier. Now remove float:left from this and save the file. Done :)

I am trying to work out why my search widget is not laying out properly in the sidebar. When I add any other widget below the search widget, that widget ends up bing placed (at least patially) to the right of the search widget, rather than below it. There also seems to be no dashed horizontal rule between the two. Perhaps there is a bit of code missing from the end of the search widgets html? any thoughts?

Here is the page I am working on. I'll leave it active for a bit and check it with browsers other than Firefox, but I can't leave it live with wonky formatting for too long.

http://maps.commons.yale.edu/

Just checked in other browsers:
IE = looks fine, though there is still no dashed HR separating the search widget as with other widgets.
Safari = search button is crowded underneath the hit counter which is implemented through the text widget. Again, no HR, above or below.

I figured out a bit about the problem, and what is on the site is currently there to show the problem. I don't know the specific cause, but it affects the widget placed under the Search widget (in this example, the Archives widget). Any ones above are unaffected.

There are two search bars because I found a slight workaround to the problem earlier. I just did not use the default wordpress search widget. Instead, I moved the code for the search bar out of rsidebar.php and moved it into sidebar.php, forcing it to display even with a widgetized sidebar enabled. After moving it though, I also added a line break.

Still, I was wondering if there are any other potential ways to fix this.

EDIT: This issue seems to occur in Firefox, but not in Internet Explorer. Instead, for Internet Explorer, the problem instead is that the search button clashes with the top of the next widget.

Hello. I have looked around this forum and seen that this problem has been mentioned before. However, there was no given solution to the problem.

This problem applies to the Blue Box theme.

It is to my understanding that if I activate widgets, then the original sidebar is not displayed and instead the widgets that I activated are. However, the problem that I'm having is that instead of lining the widgets up vertically on the sidebar, they are being lined up to the right. Every widget after the first one is basically pushed out of the sidebar, meaning I don't even see it there.

Is there a way to make it so that the widgets are lined up vertically like the original sidebar?

Thanks.
