   Hi,

   When I Edit the top few lines of the paid for theme - modblogger - news - then the Template will not come up in the Theme Editor in WP-Admin.

   Am I not allowed to in any way shape or form change the top half dozen lines of commented text in style.css??

   The "Theme Editor" only works again after I replace the top comment lines back to the original default author plug...

   Did I miss that bit in the license where it says that I can't change that in this purchased theme?

   Actually, Wordpress reads your theme information from those commented lines in the style.css file. You should keep them the way they are.
