Shinjiru Hosting Sucks – Gets Eaten by Hostgator for Real!
A while back, I had posted news about server troubles and this website slowing down for two full days. During that time, I contacted Shinjiru Hosting company (I had them as my host because Bob was already hosting this website with Shinjiru). The tech support really sucks at Shinjiru because they literally forced me to switch to their VPS hosting by saying that my site had grown too big (that was not really the case which I found out later). I did that and guess what, the very next day they declared that I must switch to their level II VPS hosting which was even costlier. So, I did that. End of story.
To my surprise, I would never have found out how Shinjiru was ripping me off, if I hadn’t tried Hostgator to host my website two weeks back. Their shared hosting is far far better than Shinjiru’s VPS hosting (supposed to be level II of some sort). One of the posts on this website even got stumbled a lot during the last one week but there was absolutely no slowdown. Cheers to Hostgator!
What makes this episode even more entertaining is the following piece of chat today with their support coordinator who goes by the e-mail : traxport [at] msn [dot] com. Just observe how calm they are, even when they totally suck at hosting.

So, all of you who still are on Shinjiru hosting, beware! Switch to a better host like Hostgator while you still have time.

And why was their email address at msn? Very strange.Probably Shinjuru is someone’s old pc in a basement.
What I love are host companies who call themselves “business solution” hosts just so they can charge 3 times more for a year’s hosting without actually giving the customer more for their money.
Tsk Tsk… I am not impressed. You actually have their ad on your post with a click-though to their affinity program (which you get compensated for?). How much credibility does that give their service?
I’m on Hostgator shared too and the only time my sites ever go down is when I run too many processes (normally IMAP). I found that I don’t have much control over the server, but 24/7 support is fantastic.
I’m on Hostgator with a few sites as well, never had a bit of a problem. Like Jai said, they really deserve it to get promoted.

Jai, you seem like promoting hostgator, are you reseller of them or you get any commission on it? hmmm…so suspect it’s truth or not….
@Bill: I am using their Baby plan which does allow unlimited domains.
Jai does your hostgator account offer you ADDON domains or just subdomains? When I tried them I could not get addons to work and had to move. I went to Flexihostings and havent had any problems but them I’m just a new blogger and not getting 120000 hits on a single post either.
