Shinjiru Hosting Sucks – Gets Eaten by Hostgator for Real!
A while back, I had posted news about server troubles and this website slowing down for two full days. During that time, I contacted Shinjiru Hosting company (I had them as my host because Bob was already hosting this website with Shinjiru). The tech support really sucks at Shinjiru because they literally forced me to switch to their VPS hosting by saying that my site had grown too big (that was not really the case which I found out later). I did that and guess what, the very next day they declared that I must switch to their level II VPS hosting which was even costlier. So, I did that. End of story.
To my surprise, I would never have found out how Shinjiru was ripping me off, if I hadn’t tried Hostgator to host my website two weeks back. Their shared hosting is far far better than Shinjiru’s VPS hosting (supposed to be level II of some sort). One of the posts on this website even got stumbled a lot during the last one week but there was absolutely no slowdown. Cheers to Hostgator!
What makes this episode even more entertaining is the following piece of chat today with their support coordinator who goes by the e-mail : traxport [at] msn [dot] com. Just observe how calm they are, even when they totally suck at hosting.

So, all of you who still are on Shinjiru hosting, beware! Switch to a better host like Hostgator while you still have time.
I used hostgator with no problems…then i decided i wanted to try ixwebhosting which offered 8 unique ip addresses with the account so i could create similar sites and link to each other. Well to my suprise all the sites now load slower. I am thinking of putting the larger sites back on hostgator. Hostgator really is a great webhost and they do have in the control panel a feature called fantastico which makes installing a forum, shopping cart, or blogs a push button breeze.
Jai, two of my bloggers friend got hit by the so called “ip migration” they performed. Their blogs is down for 2-3 days. That sucks,
I am an existing Shinjiru’s customer too for 3 months. Luckily, I am not affected by the ip migration cause I had moved out earlier.
I am now happily with ServerFreak – http://www.web-hosting.net.my and they are good. No downtime till now. Affordable. No overselling. They rocks,
I am with hostgator baby plan since july last year.. I really satisfied with their support & service..
I have over 50 domain hosted on same account. No big problem.. Uptime really fantastic.. They deserve it..

just when i thought I seen everyting
along come something like this
in a way this is a two sides of a coin issue
i think if you cant work it out with them
send an email to the top management for an explanation
a reputable company too is run by humans
n there could be a miscommunication
anything can be of a reason
server issues can be either the hardware or the configuration
setting or wrong packages offered
however having said that as long as you are happy
on this issue then move forward
let the case closes
end of the day it is your satisfaction that counts !
First off, I must say I’m horrified with the way the hosting rep conducted himself in that chat sesstion. If my provider treated me like that, I would SUE him, never mind just quit the service.
And as far as affiliating with Hoatgator – the more, the merrier. I see no problem with affiliate links like that. I would probably do the same, if I were in your position, Jai.

well, maybe we want to earn money from our blogs,but if u complain about some company and want promote another one , u could do it without affiliate too..that way u honestly will promote them.

For all those people, who think putting affiliate link in the post is wrong, please tell me if you do not want to earn money from your blogs. And if you think, doing that is so wrong, please do not click on them.
Sorry to say jai, but when customers start talking to me that way, I usually give them the ‘talk to the hand’ treatement as well.
