Shinjiru Hosting Sucks – Gets Eaten by Hostgator for Real!
A while back, I had posted news about server troubles and this website slowing down for two full days. During that time, I contacted Shinjiru Hosting company (I had them as my host because Bob was already hosting this website with Shinjiru). The tech support really sucks at Shinjiru because they literally forced me to switch to their VPS hosting by saying that my site had grown too big (that was not really the case which I found out later). I did that and guess what, the very next day they declared that I must switch to their level II VPS hosting which was even costlier. So, I did that. End of story.
To my surprise, I would never have found out how Shinjiru was ripping me off, if I hadn’t tried Hostgator to host my website two weeks back. Their shared hosting is far far better than Shinjiru’s VPS hosting (supposed to be level II of some sort). One of the posts on this website even got stumbled a lot during the last one week but there was absolutely no slowdown. Cheers to Hostgator!
What makes this episode even more entertaining is the following piece of chat today with their support coordinator who goes by the e-mail : traxport [at] msn [dot] com. Just observe how calm they are, even when they totally suck at hosting.

EVERY FUCKING WEEK THEY HAVE TONS of problems with their servers! and this is just the current posting that reaches a few days back ! Either these guys are somewhere in the malaysian rainforest and hammering coconuts to submit bytes to the civilization, or they are complete incompetent idiots !
When they did their yearly “server hardening” (sounds great right?) sometime in feb, march or april i think, my both websites were DOWN FOR 1 WEEK ! When they restored the sites they fuckd up the sql databases and it took messages en masse to have it fixed.
Now one asshole come out again and say this is a unreasonable smear campaign !
The only thing is that this is also my mistake and i shoudl kick myself cause i am too lazy to pull my domains to another hoster…

Ok let make it this way…Ok la I ll give you guys until year 2010 to setup my server with php4 and hope that i will not see blank page again..hehehe…thats about 1 and a half year to setup the server. in a meanwhile, you can always tell me my server is fine..and i wont be mad if its working for only 2-3 minutes or if i still see blank page… you guys are so funny..

I’ve had Shinjiru for almost 2 years with no problems. Their customer support always was very quick, polite, and top notch.
They specialize in sites that want to keep out of the reach of retarded Americans who feel like suing at the drop of a hat, and hosts that pull your account the minute some moron complains about content. Trying to compare a VPS with shared hosting is like comparing a Chevy to a BMW. If you didn’t realize you were buying far more service than you needed shame on you. They didn’t rip you off, you were just ignorant on what your needs were. You screwed up, move on. They have a shared hosting plan for $59 a year which would be comparable to what you have now.
Had you approached me with that attitude of yours as you did Shinjiru, I would have told you to piss up a rope.
