  1. Thanks SteveM….

But if I remove the mainbck.gif, which creates a variable length sidebar area, what would then create that variable length colored background in its place?

    Thanks – Brad

I had the same trouble at first with the light blue sidebar. It’s not a color – it’s a graphic repeated in the Y-axis. It’s a full width (800 pixel) x 1pixel high .gif image called mainbck.gif. You’ll find it is styled as #mainbck and is the last line of the header.php file.

Considering the single pixel high gif image could all be styled in CSS, it’s an old fashioned technique mixed in with the new. Bluebox is a nice template but has many quirks like this one.

My suggestion is to remove it (the image in the mainbck ID) – it slows the rendering down on the page. The days of single pixel high/wide/square images to render pages was made obsolete with CSS.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Hi…

I’m new to WP and just found this killer theme! Thanx!

I’m poking around in the CSS (I’m new to that too) trying to find out where the right sidebar is set to light blue – but can’t find it.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanx a bunch – Brad

  7. This was my first time using wordpress, css, and php. I used BlueBox as a starting point, and as I’ve figured out what various things do, I’ve continued to build on it. I appreciate the simplicity and stylishness, both make it easy to use and build on. Lot’s of learning to do still! http://www.campcross.org
