List Category Posts is a simple WordPress plugin which allows you to list some posts from a category into a post/page using [catlist=ID], where ID stands for the Category Id.

Nice post Jai!
I think the min comment length is a good tool to help fight spammers who just post one or two words. I also think the List Category plugin will be a huge help for me on a few of my phpBay Sites. thanks for sharing!

I just write a new plugin WP Widget Cache, which can cache the output of your blog widgets. I think it will significantly reduce your server usage, especially when Google is crawling your site.
