It appears that most of these individuals are in the design or creative profession. I feel that is important to create business cards like the ones above if you are in these professions so you stand out from the competition. If you’re a graphic designer, people expect you to be creative. If you hand them a dull and lifeless business card it reflects poorly on your ability as a designer.
I do believe though that these kind of cards are only good for creative or artistic professions and wouldn’t be ideal for individuals in certain professions.

nice… I have wanted to find something incredibly creative for myself… for a while I did the plastic card thing and that always stood out, but not enough…
I like the pop-up card idea… (I’ve always wanted a card that was more three dimentional rather than just flat…)

Impressive! I like several of them, very nice.

i love the super capacity card, where do you get that

All the cards look great, but the ones that stood out to me were the die cut ones. These are great to make but are pretty pricey. I think if a design is great you can print on the most expensive, or the cheapest paper and the business cards will still be impressive.
Take the business cards at http://www.mind2print.com for example. They’re simple but effective, printed on high quality paper (not die cut).

They’re all so unique. There should be more creative ones out there instead of the vanilla business cards. There are also other special effects that can help make business cards stand out. To get free samples, visit lettuceprint.com.
