A responsive navigation menu is a must for your WordPress website. If there is a plug & play solution available readily, life gets easier. Today, I am going to list top 10 Free WordPress plugins that provide you with a quick and efficient way to integrate responsive navigation menus into your existing theme or website. I have personally used all of them at some point of time and I know that they work out of the box. You might have to make a few tweaks to customize the styling, but overall, they will save you a ton of time and money.

Lets look at the responsive WordPress menu plugins :-

1. Max Mega Menu Top Plugin

This is one of the best WordPress navigation menu plugins that I have used, and I have used it on a lot of personal and clients’ websites. It doesn’t get easier than this. Max Mega Menu can quickly replace your existing menu via the WordPress menu manager and then you can style the menu by going to the Max Mega Menu settings. Its a complete solution to create responsive menus that work wonderfully on all devices and you can even add other stuff like widgets etc. to your mega menus with a few clicks. It also supports adding custom icons to the menu items which is a great feature.

2. Responsive Menu

This WordPress plugin comes with both a header and off-canvas menu (menu that pushes your website from left or right). The plugin is easy to use and comes with over 150 customization options as stated on developer’s website. It also has a PRO version that you can purchase, but in my opinion the free version is sufficient to do most of the basic stuff.

3. WP Responsive Menu

WP Responsive Menu is a simple WordPress plugin but its simply great at what it does. The plugin makes it easy to add a device-friendly sliding navigation menu into your WordPress website in a matter of minutes. All the customization can be done directly from the plugin settings page, with no coding needed at all. There is even an option to change menu icon animation.

4. SlickNav Menu

An easy and quick WordPress plugin to get a working responsive menu within a matter of seconds. Just install the plugin and enter the menu that you want it to replace. SlickNav Responsive Menu also has multi-level menu support. As a matter of fact, Blogohblog.com has been using SlickNav menu for a long time. Check the mobile version 🙂

5. WP Mega Menu

This is another feature-rich WordPress plugin that has a lot of options to make your own mega menus and mobile-friendly menus. You can make menu themes, and customize the styles using drag-and-drop tools. You may also beautify the menu items with custom colors, fonts, and attributes. The best feature is that it comes with a drag and drop menu builder panel.

ShiftNav plugin allows you to have an off-canvas sliding menu from either side of your website. It is touch-enabled and works beautifully on both desktop and mobile. It provides the user an awesome touch experience and it comes with both light and dark skins.

WP Mobile Menu is an easy to use WordPress responsive mobile menu. It keeps your mobile visitors engaged by providing then easy access to your site content using any device whatsoever.  It’s possible to have two responsive Mobile Menus per page, including an fixed header where you can place your logo/brand or just a simple hamburger menu. No coding knowledge is required.

8. eDS Responsive Menu

This is a lesser known WordPress responsive menu plugin that generates area economical vertical, horizontal push/sliding/static navigation, icon toolbar or full-screen menu on your choice. You can also integrate a logo, search box or your social profile icons into the menu very easily. It can be used as standalone navigation or replacement for your main menu.

This concludes the list of the WordPress menu plugins that are available on WordPress.org website. Some of them even have PRO versions that you can purchase to get additional features. I will still suggest that you try the free versions before you go PRO as the free versions are more than enough.

    This is a great selection for sure. But i think a new megamenu is missing here

    I’m talking about quadmenu, a new megamenu for wordpress that stand out!

    Amazing plugins for WP Menu, WordPress is the awesome platform which enables to change the design of website navigation according to the client requirement. I am familiar with some plugins for instance ‘WP Responsive Menu’ and ‘Responsive Menu’. However, other menu plugins are really impressive and informative for the responsive navbar menu in WordPress.
