WordPress Mobile Theme
I feel glad to introduce a free WordPress theme for the Mobile Phones. This is a minimalistic theme that can be used by bloggers who want to target mobile phone users. This theme will fit perfectly in all the mobile phones (any resolution) and because of its light weight, will also reduce loading times. The three key features that I have included with this theme are:-
1. You can choose your own theme color from the theme options. (any color you want for your theme is just a click away)
2. You can define your own width for your theme. The theme can have 100% width if you want the theme to fit on every mobile phone, or you can define a fixed width in pixels to target special users.
3. The front page will dynamically create thumbnails for your posts.
All you have to do is download the theme and activate it for your blog. And yes, don’t forget to leave a comment!

I’m liking this theme, overall. Nice to have the thumbnail appear beside the post titles.
But there’s an issue displaying pages. The theme generates an error:
FATAL ERROR: Call to undefined function get_the_image() in …/page.php on line 13.
Help! All of a sudden this theme has gone wonky… My posts all appear but my pages do not. My host is being no help and says this is a problem for the developer of the theme.

To the person or anyone wondering why they could not zoom whilst on the mobile site, do this:
Go to wordpress/wp-content/themes/mobiletheme/header.php in cpanel,
On line 8,
replace
With
This will make zoom and pinch possible.

i really like this theme, simple and easy to use
of course like your web-site however you have to test the spelling on several of your posts. Several of them are rife with spelling issues and I to find it very bothersome to inform the truth then again I’ll certainly come back again.

Set ur picture as featured image in post. if u didnt set featured image before in previous post then u can do it with a plugin.

Just out of curiosity, how would you run a WordPress mobile site for an existing blog? This was my guess:
1) Create a subdomain, “m.mysite.com”
2) Install this mobile theme on a new WordPress install on this new subdomain
3) During WP setup, point your existing website’s database as the database of this new installation
4) Edit htaccess(?) so that any mobile user visiting your site gets forced over to “m.mysite.com”
5) Mark the entire website as “noindex” so it’s not duplicate content
Does this sound right?

In my browser of blacberry curve 8520, the picture do not display as thumbnails preview on each entry. For example: the photo of last blog entry is not correctly resized. Moreover, This photo appears in the last two entries as just one photo.
I am thinking in disable the thumbnails. How can I make this? or how I can repair the problem ?. Many thank for any help.

Anyone had a problem where images over a certain size show the little blue question mark? I’m trying to load a jpg into the theme that is 300×200, and it only shows a blue question mark. Any other larger jpg around the web I put in to test does the same thing. If I do a small image, like the link.jpg that comes with this theme, it works. OR, if I take that large image and make it 100px wide, it works. Any ideas? I need the image to be 300×200

You need to install “Get the Image” -plugin for WordPress:

After installing this the mobile theme works like a charm.

What think Google about Mobile Sites? It´s Duble Content? If you make your Sites with another CSS technic, you can create One Content for all.

I’m having the same problem as some other users have had – I’m using the Smooci plug-in to detect access by a mobile device, and when that happens, I’ve set Smooci up to use your mobile theme. However, I get the same error message as others have had:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_the_image() in /home/dsrusse/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/mobiletheme/page.php on line 13
I’m using the version of your theme that is given in the link above this thread, and so I’m wondering, please, whether you had found a solution the problem?

I had the same issue but i figured it out. Go to your theme editor on wordpress and under the mobile theme files edit style.php. Remove the code and change it to your own color. Hope that works!

But… I have a little problem, I instaled your theme in my professional website running WordPress 2.9.2. But I cannot see the options to change color, widht , etc… the mobile theme options are not showing any controls to change this.

There are 2 questions I wanna ask you..
1. Do I need to fill in custom field on every single post in order to show thumbnail in the homepage? I’ve tried to add an image in PNG, but there is no image shows up in the home page..
2. Can I set the theme to max. width of the 500px when my blog viewed by computer browser, and set 100% it is viewed by mobile browser.. Maksudnya gini Om Jai, di style css di set ke maksimal 500px, dan di dashboard di set ke 100%.. Jadi otomatis ketika dibuka di kompi dia cuma 500px, tapi di mobile dia jadi 100% mengikuti / sesuai ponsel yang dipake.. bisa tidak kalo begitu Om Jai..

The thumbnails are automatic as long as they are uploaded with the post and are on your server and not hotlinked. And yes, you can set the theme to max width as much as you like.

I am about to set up a 2d barcode system in Barga (LU) Tuscany Italy for tourist information. This week there will be 50 small 2d barcodes labels put up in the city at all the major attractions, churchs, piazzas, palazzi, bars and restaurants. I have been running the barganews.com website for the city since 1996 but it was time to make that move into the next level – mobile information. Your theme was perfect for this project.
I do have a small problem though – whenever I click on Categories I get an error code – Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_the_image() in ……..
Is there something simple that I am doing wrong ?

Jai, I really do want to use your theme for this project … of all the ones that I have tried, yours is simply graphically the best but I still cannot get the pages or categories to work … only posts works as they should.
This project goes live at the end of this month .. if I cannot get your theme to work then I will be forced to use one of the other themes … something I am resisting.
This project will be the first medieval walled city in Italy that has been 2d barcoded ready to be read by tourists via their cellphones.
There will be a lot of publicity about this event in the Italian media …. please can you give me a hand to get this working

I downloaded your theme after this may 24 fix was made. I’m having this same problem but with the pages, specifically the default about page. (haven’t added others to know if its all pages) Error message is..
Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_the_image() in … on line 13
if it is fixed could you post how you did it? I ‘ve customized it all today and can’t download a new copy for it will overwrite it all.
One other problem was the theme options wouldn’t apply. The header color and I think width. I had to do those manually.

Yes. Like I said earlier, this is a simple mobile theme that can be applied to a normal WP blog. But to actually use it as a substitute theme (when site is viewed from a mobile), you will need a plugin.

WordPress Mobile Pack plugin allows use of any theme to be presented to mobile browser user agents…. it comes with several themes, but you can specify any theme for mobile user agents.
